The Pedigree Builder was created to allow website owners a way to quickly show their dogs information.
We have created a blank Dog Pedigree printable chart that you can download.
PDF Version (print off and hand write information)
Excel Version (Open in Microsoft Excel and edit)
Add as much information about your pet as you like. If you don't have specific information for one of the fields, we suggest putting in n/a (non-applicable).
Once all the information is entered, scroll to the bottom of the page and choose the type of HTML code that you want to receive.
Click the Create/Update button. The Pedigree Builder code will generate in the box below it. Highlight the text and copy it.
Open your text software and paste the code into it then save the document.
This is a feature that will be included in a future version of the Pedigree Builder, however, at this time, you must copy the generated code and save it to a text document.
We recommend using Notepad, which is preinstalled on Windows machines. If you use Word, it can inadvertently add additional code that will cause it the Pedigree Builder to not show correctly on your website.
Due to the number of different hosting platforms, we are not able to help with the actual installation of the code on your website. We suggest contacting the technical support staff of your website software to get further guidance on how to install the code.
Though we are not able to help you install the code on your website, we would be happy to look at the code to make sure that it saved correctly. Please feel free to email email@example.com and include the text document so that we can review it. If there is a technical issue with the Pedigree Builder, we can help troubleshoot that.
Though there is not a print option, once you have the code embedded on your website, you can print out that page.
The font used for the Pedigree Builder is stored within the CSS. If you have knowledge on how to read and edit the CSS, you can definitely change the font, font size, etc. Again, due to the number of different hosting platforms, we are not able to help with changes to your site's code. We suggest contacting the technical support staff of your website software to get further guidance on how to change the code.
What is SitStay's stance on purebred vs. rescue dogs?
The pedigree chart is something that used to be on SitStay's site several years ago and was lost in data transfers. We continued to receive a number of calls, emails, and inquiries to our site for this chart. Due to the demand, we constructed a chart for (based on the feedback we've received) people who show their dogs competitively.
We support a variety of rescues and shelters, including our local humane society and several local rescues with meet and greets as well as fundraising events. One of our CEO's dogs, a pug, is a rescue, and our entire team are strong supporters of rescues and shelters.
